Wembley College is a co-educational, independent school, situated in Greytown in the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The college caters for children from Gr RRRR to 12 and prides itself on being a small school where scholars achieve with excellence! All our classes currently have fewer than 25 scholars per class, which increases the opportunity for our qualified staff to give more individual attention.
Wembley College has an exceptionally competitive fee structure, as the school mainly caters for the local community, which inhibits extravagant increases in school fees. Very impressive boarding facilities make it possible for scholars from all over South Africa and even from outside the South African borders, to feel as if they are at a “home away from home” in a safe and secure environment. Catering at the BE is provided by Capitol Caterers, who also look after our catering requirements for various other school and sporting functions.
Wembley College strives to ensure that pupils receive the best education through its well-qualified staff and unique curriculum, encapsulating the University of Cambridge Exams system- adapted to local needs. The curriculum is based on a combination of traditional and innovative study techniques, founded in beliefs that education is not only an ongoing process which continues long after the child has left school, but also that a positive learning environment needs to have a strong emphasis on having fun while learning. It is inclusive and broad, with a holistic approach to the development of the child as a confidant, responsible and well-adjusted individual who has a strong appreciation for the environment.Small numbers in the classroom enable staff to provide high levels of individual support. To develop confidence and self-esteem, great emphasis is also placed on the emotional and social well-being of the child.Wembley College is a non-profit-making organisation guided by a local governing board. Members of this board are drawn from all communities and all walks of life. They are invited to serve because of their skills and wide-ranging experience in fields such as commerce, industry and education.
The campus is set on a sizeable property, overlooking a picturesque farming valley and a pristine lake area at the bottom. With ample scope for outdoor activities, pupils are encouraged to become involved in a host of different extra murals from fishing through to adventure trail mountain-biking. Additionally, the other sport and recreational facilities boast after-school activities and sports that include Swimming, Tennis, Soccer, Hockey, Cricket, Rugby, Choir, Debating and Athletics. All our sport is enhanced by a speed and power fitness programme which each pupil is expected to take part in- the spin-off being that for a small school, we achieve great success on the sport’s field.
Wembley College was born out of the need for an independent school which could cater for the needs of people living and working within the immediate area, but currently draws students from a lot further away. Our highly-esteemed boarding establishment provides a safe haven and positive learning environment for Senior School children and has allowed us to accept scholars from outside the immediate vicinity.
Wembley College is based on Christian principles, norms and values that will provide an affordable, bilingual education of the highest standards.
