Boddington District High School, located 120 km south-east of Perth, is a Western Australian Government School offering courses from Kindergarten to Year 10. The school attracts students from its local community as well as students from Quindanning, Wandering, Bannister and Crossman. Boddington District High School provides excellent teaching and quality learning, strong values and a supportive pastoral care program, as well as consistent and fair behaviour management.
As well as Mathematics, English Humanities and Science the school provides Indonesian, Arts and Crafts, Physical Education, Design and Technology and Food Technology, taught by experienced specialist teachers, allowing each student to develop their individual passions and talents in an IT rich learning environment. The school’s positive and challenging educational programs develop the necessary knowledge and skills for students to become confident, independent learners.
Boddington District High School school’s motto is ‘We Foster Growth’, derived from the school’s rural and bush setting. The school is committed to the growth of children’s intellectual, emotional, social, physical, aesthetic and creative faculties and to providing programs to increase the resilience of students and staff. Boddington District High School regards all children in its care as individuals, encouraging them to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills to the fullest extent possible. The school works in close partnership with parents, the School Council and the Parents’ and Citizens’ Association and has strong links to community organisations and local businesses, including the Lions Club, CWA, the two adjacent mines, Newmont Boddington Gold and South32 Worsley, and the Shire of Boddington.
All year groups from K-10 are considered as parts of one school with common aims. The important ‘transition’ stages, Pre-Primary to Year 1, Year 6 to Year 7 and Year 10 to Year 11 are greatly assisted by this whole school philosophy.
Our facilities are modern and dynamic, including: a specialist computer laboratory; teaching hubs with class sets of laptops; interactive white boards in each class; a primary art room; a dedicated music room; a fully equipped manual arts facility; science laboratory; textiles and foods facilities (including industrial kitchen equipment and benches); an undercover assembly area; a fully equipped canteen; a specialist language room (Indonesian) and a horticultural nursery. The school is also in close proximity to recreational facilities, including a swimming pool and recreation centre.
