Corrigin District High School, situated in the southern wheatbelt 240 km from Perth, caters for students from kindergarten through to Year 10. We have specialised teachers and education assistants who provide innovative and engaging classes for all children. We have a strong focus on developing literacy and numeracy skills, especially in the junior primary section of the school, but students enjoy the challenges provided by our exemplary teachers of all learning areas.
Our positive and challenging teaching programs allow all students to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to become confident independent learners. We are proud of our reputation in offering a diverse range of subjects including
music, Japanese, arts and crafts and physical education which are taught by
specialist teachers.Through our highly successful academic program, students are encouraged to think critically and develop problem solving skills. Our excellent record of achievement in literacy and numeracy ensures that your child will be catered for to the best of their ability. The varied curriculum allows each
student to develop their individual passions and talents.
Corrigin District High School has a strong ethos of being a warm, caring and
friendly community where every child is treated as a valued individual. Students are rewarded for their efforts both inside and outside the classroom with Honor Certificates and a process of 'Good Standing' whereby they are all eligible every fortnight to demonstrate their positive contribution to school and receive a reward for their efforts.
Students are challenged and valued in an engaging, innovative learning
environment. Through a comprehensive transition program, students move easily
and successfully from Year 7 into their lower secondary schooling years. We pride
ourselves on our strong pastoral care program that helps students anticipate
and handle the challenges which can arise for young people. A strong
mentoring system cares for, and provides positive guidance to, students as individuals. Our well-established community partnerships give students opportunities for real-life learning, engaging them in relevant and meaningful experiences.
Students are taught in traditional classrooms, all with multimedia teaching
facilities. Pre-primary and kindergarten students enjoy their own outdoor play area and sandpit, whilst older students have access to basketball and netball courts, a
large, grassed oval and a challenging climbing frame. The school is fully airconditioned, providing a pleasant learning environment throughout the year.
Our school motto is Believing is Achieving whereby we encourage all students to believe in themselves and their own ability to achieve and we look forward to educating your child to be the most successful person they can be.
