LATAM Paraguay (formerly TAM Paraguay) was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Asunción, the capital of Paraguay. It is a Paraguay-based subsidiary of the LATAM Airlines Group. Its IATA code was PZ (a historical code later integrated into the LATAM system), and its primary hub was Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Asunción. LATAM Paraguay was built on domestic routes within Paraguay and regional routes across South America, while also operating selected international services, playing an important regional operational role in the aviation markets of Paraguay and South America.

The company was originally known as TAM Paraguay. Its historical roots can be traced back to Líneas Aéreas Paraguayas (LAP), established in 1962, and LAPSA, founded in 1994 under the SAETA structure. In 1996, it was acquired by TAM Airlines of Brazil and gradually integrated into its operational system. In 2015, following the merger of LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines to form LATAM Airlines Group, the airline was officially renamed LATAM Paraguay and became a subsidiary of the group, with its operations further integrated into LATAM’s unified network and brand structure.
