Kimberley Girls’ High School, established on 12 April 1887 with 21 pupils on the roll, ranged form Grade 1 to Grade 12. In 1927 the Junior Classes separated to form the Belgravia Junior School, and the girls' school continued as a High School.
Girls' High School celebrated its 125th birthday in April 2012.
Today the school is an all girls, non-racial State school, from Grade 8 to 12, with an enrolment of 600 and 30 staff members.
During the school's more than 120 years history there have been ten Principals. Mrs Helen Hugo, Principal for 18 years, retired at the end of June 2015. Mr Mike Matthews is currently the Acting Principal.
