Pinelands High School

Pinelands High School is a public school situated in Forest Drive, Pinelands in the city of Cape Town, South Africa. It was opened in July 1952 and the founding principal was Jack Kent. The school now enrols about 950 students.

In 2004, the school provided filming locations for the motion picture Ask the Dust, with the sets built to simulate Los Angeles in the 1930s.

The school originally had a House System, which was scrapped some years after its formation. The school is now planning on re-introducing to house system through the Representative Council of Learners. There have been negative to mixed reactions from students in this regard.

Instituted in 1952, the school celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2012. The school had the first official correspondence with a monarch of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II, as 2012 also marked her diamond jubilee.
