Our Lady of the Hills is an independently owned, incorporated organization recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Our tax identification number is 74-2802450.
In 1995, the first committee to research the feasibility of a Catholic High School for the Texas Hill Country was formed. In 2002 with encouragement from the community, and pioneer parents, OLH opened with 19 students in portable buildings. In 2007 OLH received a $1M gift from Beverly Pevehouse and David and Missy Hoelscher towards the construction of a permanent building.
Our largest source for support has been the Floyd A. and Kathleen C. Cailloux Foundation. In addition to start-up funds so that construction could begin, The Cailloux Foundation awarded Our Lady of the Hills a $4M challenge grant towards construction and OLH continues to meet this matching challenge.
The completed school consists of approximately 53,000 square feet of academic, gathering, and athletic space to serve a maximum occupancy of 225 students. The facility has a chapel, eight classrooms, two science labs, science prep space, a computer lab, a resource center, a library, an art room, a music room, a gymnasium, and an open-air courtyard.
OLH was born of a sincere desire to provide Catholic education to students of the Texas Hill Country. Young men and women from surrounding counties come to our 86-acre Kerrville campus to experience a unique college preparatory curriculum. We equip these students with a strong background, spiritual formation, and a deep commitment to community service.
