Tauraroa Area School is a rural school for all ages of students located in the rural Maungakaramea district. It is a school of 470 students with more than 30 teaching and support staff. Maungakaramea is about 20 kilometres to the south of Whangarei. TAS is a Cornerstone values school. The cornerstone values are: Responsibility, Kindness, Respect, Duty, Honesty, Consideration for others, Compassion and Obedience.
