Immanuel Christian School opened its doors in September 1969, serving students in preschool through 2nd grade. The school added grades every year until it provided Christian education for students through 8th grade. ICS remained this way until 2001, when the high school was added. Immanuel's first graduating class was in 2002, with 6 seniors receiving their diplomas in the church sanctuary.
In 2004, Immanuel Christian School introduced a proprietary College Prep class and program, which incorporated cultural literacy, standardized test prep and personal planning for all post-high school endeavors. Since then, ICS has had 5 National Hispanic Scholars and one National Merit Scholar. Each year, graduates receive thousands of dollars in scholarships and Immanuel Christian School alumni now grace the campuses of such prestigious universities at Princeton Theological Seminary, MIT, Wellesley College, University of Notre Dame, UT Austin, TCU, Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute and St. Mary's University.
