Founded in 1846, St Margaret’s School for Girls is the oldest all-through girls’ school in Scotland. We are an independent charitable trust that warmly welcomes girls of all denominations and faiths.
St Margaret’s School offers a fully-rounded education, through which we seek to realise the full potential of each girl. We endeavour to provide each of our girls with a sound academic education, essential for entry to higher and further education, and to industry, business and the professions.
Our girls are socially aware and are prepared to cope with the challenges of the competitive world beyond school. They are encouraged to show concern for those in the wider community within and beyond Aberdeen.
Girls are taught to value themselves as individuals and to show respect and consideration when working with others; to develop a sense of fun and a sense of responsibility; to have a positive attitude; and to be flexible and adaptable.
We encourage our staff and pupils to contribute to the wider development of education in Scotland. We are very proud of our girls and of the education we provide at St Margaret’s.
