Tamborine Mountain is a volcanic plateau with a maximum length of 8km and a width of 5km. The mountain is 560m above sea level, is just 30km inland from Queensland’s Gold Coast and just 80Km from the heart of Brisbane. We are close enough to Brisbane and the Gold Coast to be involved with events at either city yet we are removed enough to enjoy the peace and serenity of the hinterland environment.
It is a world of subtropical rainforests, waterfalls and breath-taking views with nine easily accessible National Parks. Tamborine Mountain is a sanctuary with fauna that includes lyrebirds, scrub turkeys, parrots, lorikeets, bowerbirds, platypus, koala, and kangaroo. Deep in the parks are the stands of picabeen palms and towering fig trees with elkhorns, staghorns, crows nest fern, and orchids competing for a place to grow. The Mountain is justifiably famous for its beauty and has earned itself the title the ‘green behind the gold
Tamborine Mountain College campus is located in North Tamborine and is serviced by local school buses.
