Windsor Gardens Vocational College incorporates the Windsor Gardens Centre for Hearing Impaired, and is one of the most dynamic learning centres in the state. We are a medium size secondary school with a very strong sense of community. Students work in small Care Groups which meet daily and then once a week for a longer session. This means the teacher gets to know each student well, monitoring progress across all of their subjects, their involvement in college life generally as well as their general well-being.
The Windsor Gardens Centre for Hearing Impaired
WGVC hosts a Centre for Hearing Impaired secondary students. From years 8-13 students travel from across the Northern and Western suburbs to attend, (assisted travel is available please contact the college). Our CHI students are able to access the entire curriculum that is available to any student across Years 8-13. They have expert support from experienced teachers and staff who ensure students are able to develop their skills and transition into future work, training or study. Close links with “Your Employment Services” ensure that a smooth transition to post school life and further support is available to all students. Year 11 students in the Centre take part in the College’s year 11 Pathways programs and also are supported to participate in the full range of the extra-curricular opportunities.
