Inglewood State P-10 School was established on its present site in 1964, although the state educational tradition in the town goes back to 1872. The school last year celebrated the 50th anniversary of Secondary education in Inglewood.
Inglewood State School is located in the Darling Downs and South West education region and is a Band 8 school, in a small rural community. Inglewood is central to the larger neighbouring centres of Goondiwindi (90 km), Warwick (110 km), Toowoomba (155 km) and Stanthorpe (110 km). Texas is 57 km to the South and Millmerran 70 km to the North.
Inglewood is part of the Goondiwindi Regional Shire Council and supports agricultural, pastoral and timber industries. Inglewood township itself is a stable, relatively self-contained community of approximately 1000 people. Water supplied from Coolmunda Dam ensures a plentiful water supply as well as an excellent recreational area for fishing, boating and skiing/water craft activities. The town is well supplied with sporting, cultural and recreational clubs (golf, bowls, tennis, squash, rugby league junior and senior, dance, gymnastics, pony club, swimming club, shooting club, children's theatre, little theatre, seniors club).
Inglewood is a safe, friendly community ideal for bringing up children.
