Townsville Grammar School is an independent, co-educational, day, International Baccalaureate and boarding school, located in Townsville, Queensland, Australia.
Established in 1888, it is the oldest co-educational school on the Australian mainland.[citation needed] It is the most northern member of the Grammar school system in Australia. During World War II the school was acquired by the Royal Australian Air Force for use as barracks accommodation for the No. 3 Fighter Sector RAAF. Townsville Grammar is also well known amongst Townsville for its rivalry in the cultural, sporting and academic fields against The Cathedral School, Townsville.
