John Forrest Secondary College celebrated 50 years of education excellence in 2012. This was a significant and historical milestone for the College. For half a century, families from the surrounding area have become part of the John Forrest community and the College has become a focal point of the community at large.
The College was built in 1962 and named after the first premier of Western Australia, Sir John Forrest. Today, we cater to over 780 students from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
Accredited as an Independent Public School in 2011 we are committed to developing excellent learning experiences through quality staff, resources, facilities and diverse education and training opportunities.
In our 50-year history, the College has achieved:
Student placed in top 1% of all students in the State and inducted into School Curriculum and Standards Authority 99 Club for 2013.
Model of Best Practice recognition by Department of Education for School Pathway to VET Programs in Australia.
Semi Finalist for the WA Secondary School of the Year - WA Education Awards 2012.
