Welcome! Rivergum Christian College is a Foundation-Year 8 independent Christian school located in Glossop (midway between Berri and Barmera) in South Australia’s beautiful Riverland region. We are the Riverland’s only non-government secondary school, offering Year 8 in 2017.
One benefit of Rivergum is that as we implement high school year-on-year until Year 12 in 2021, your child can receive a quality education from the start of primary to their graduation in senior high. We have an open enrolment policy, meaning we welcome enrolments from families of all backgrounds.
Rivergum’s motto, ‘Our faith is in Christ’, reflects our underlying beliefs in Christ’s foundation of love, grace and the truth. This foundation is central to our curriculum, discipline, creativity and our desire for the success of every student. We teach a Christian worldview, meaning life is viewed through the lens of our faith and the Scriptures.
The school has a strong history of involvement in performing arts and sporting events, with staff who specialise in music and drama, science, physical education, computing and Japanese (LOTE) as well as education support officers.
Our school is creative, implementing an integrated curriculum and promoting new, engaging learning techniques. We have an emphasis on student wellness, employing a chaplain to assist in cultivating a distinctly caring, Christian environment. Find out more about this in our Primary School Information booklet.
We enjoy fostering a sense of community by involving parents and carers in many ways in the life of the college. This could be either volunteering to read with students, joining us for weekly chapel, cooking the barbecue at one of our many events throughout the year, attending VIP Day or simply enjoying a coffee in our lounge area from time to time – family is important to us!
Our bus services cover localities such as Berri, Monash, Winkie, Barmera, Glossop, Renmark and Paringa.
