Chifley College Senior Campus

Chifley College was established in 2000 from five comprehensive high schools built in the 1960s in the Mount Druitt area and situated on Dharug land. Bidwill, Dunheved, Mt Druitt, Shalvey and Whalan High Schools were amalgamated into the multi-campus collegiate to provide enhanced educational opportunities for students of the district. Three schools became junior campuses, one remained 7-12 and Whalan High School became known as Senior Campus.

The Senior Campus was originally sited on the grounds of Whalan High School. A new school was built next to Mount Druitt TAFE to provide state of the art facilities to support a dedicated senior study pattern for Year 11 and 12 students. Staff and students moved into the Senior Campus on North Parade, Mt Druitt on November 2002.

During the past ten years Senior Campus has offered students a diverse range of subjects and pathways towards their Higher School Certificate and post schooling options. Effective community partnerships with universities, TAFE, local employers and external agencies have support the provision of a broad and carried curriculum. This is supported by the strong support that is enjoyed from parents and community elders.

The College motto, Learn Discover, Inspire is at the foundation of this partnership between students, community and the school. Students have many opportunities to engage with a broad and varied curriculum that targets their needs and is designed to encourage excellence and citizenship.
