Welcome to the website of the Calen District State College. We are located in Calen, a small agricultural community on the Bruce Highway, fifty-seven kilometres North of Mackay.
International research has stressed that the most effective means of improving students' results is through effective and quality teaching. This is then enhanced through real-life and life-like experiences as well as strong community partnerships.
At Calen District State College we are proud of the quality teaching which occurs in our classrooms and our dedicated staff. Through our partnerships with Cummins Mackay, 4CRM (Community Radio Mackay) and Central Queensland University we provide real life experience in diesel workshops, on air radio presenting and first year tertiary study.
A kindergarten was recently constructed on our campus which means that you can go from kindergarten to year 12, apprenticeship training or university study on the one location.
