本校之創設，始於民國56年秋，營建校舍，前後歷時年餘，首期工程告峻。
57學年度，承嚴前總統家淦先生蒞臨主持啟用典禮，旋即有學區內國民小學應屆畢業生900餘人報到入學，共設18班，採男女合校分班施教。自此木鐸揚而弦歌起，蔚為盛況。
