Description

This 2025 cabin crew uniform of S7 Airlines is built around the concept of “modern minimalist fashion × high-function aviation wear.” The redesign marks a decisive departure from the airline’s previously colorful and more traditional uniform style, replacing it with a visual language that feels distinctly urban, contemporary, and closer to luxury fashion aesthetics.

The overall uniform is based on a deep black palette, accented by S7’s signature fluorescent lime green as the primary visual identity element. Bold green lines extend from the shoulders through the waist and skirt, reinforcing the airline’s long-established brand color while creating a strong sense of movement and futurism. This high-contrast styling gives the uniform one of the most visually striking appearances among contemporary airline uniforms.

In terms of silhouette, the design adopts a minimalist tailored blazer and pencil skirt combination, with exceptionally clean lines and almost no decorative excess. Instead of relying on traditional formal uniform elements, the visual impact is created through geometric paneling and sharp color contrast, making the outfit resemble modern luxury ready-to-wear fashion more than a conventional airline uniform.

This redesign also reflects a major shift in S7 Airlines’ broader brand strategy. Unlike previous generations led by fashion designers, this project was directed internally by Maria Fileva, Deputy General Director for Branding and Public Relations, in collaboration with stylist and fashion consultant Alexey Sukharev. Their goal was to create a true “capsule collection” approach to airline uniforms.

Both male and female cabin crew members receive nine wardrobe pieces, which can be combined into seventeen different looks. This transforms the uniform from a rigid standardized outfit into something much closer to contemporary lifestyle fashion. S7 emphasized that the clothing should not only function for work, but also be comfortable enough that crew members would willingly continue wearing it after duty.

The materials were selected with equal emphasis on functionality and comfort. The fabric blend consists of 42% wool, 6% elastane, and 52% polyester, providing temperature regulation, flexibility, durability, and wrinkle resistance suitable for varying climates and high-frequency operations.

One of the most discussed changes is the complete replacement of traditional formal shoes with black sneakers, paired with either black or lime-green shoelaces. This reflects a broader industry movement toward comfort-focused and athleisure-inspired aviation uniforms, aligning S7 with contemporary redesign trends seen at airlines such as KLM, Sky Airline, and SkyUp Airlines.
