Introduction
Revue Starlight (少女☆歌劇 レヴュースタァライト, Shōjo Kageki Revyū Sutāraito; literally Girls' Musical Revue Starlight) is a Japanese multimedia franchise created in 2017 by Bushiroad, Nelke Planning, and Kinema Citrus. The franchise began with a series of stage musicals that debuted from September 22 to 24, 2017, at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo. It later expanded into a 12-episode anime television series directed by Tomohiro Furukawa, which aired from July to September 2018, followed by two animated films released on August 7, 2020, and June 4, 2021. These films serve as both a condensed retelling of the anime and a continuation of its story. The franchise has also inspired three manga adaptations, all of which began serialization in January 2018.
A smartphone game, Shōjo Kageki Revue Starlight: Re LIVE, developed by Ateam, was released in October 2018. After six years of service, the game officially shut down across all servers in September 2024. On August 8, 2024, a visual novel titled Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight Stage Musical Impression Drama: Distant El Dorado was released for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The game serves as a sequel to the franchise's second animated film, Revue Starlight: The Movie**. In addition, a new anime sequel has been announced.
