Founded in 1914, St Matthew’s is an integrated day and boarding school for girls from Year 7 to Year 13. We are located in the rural town of Masterton in the North Island of New Zealand.
St Matthew’s is part of the Trinity family of schools which includes Hadlow Preparatory School for boys and girls from pre school to Year 8, St Matthew’s for girls and Rathkeale College for boys from Year 9 to Year 13. Our senior girls and boys join together for co-education at the Senior College on the Rathkeale campus in Years 12 and 13.
At St Matthew’s we focus on the needs of the individual, encouraging each girl to reach her potential in all aspects of school life , and to embody the spirit of our school motto “ad astra per aspera” (to the stars through endeavour).
Within a Christian environment, fostering tolerance and respect, we educate our pupils to be effective citizens, who are independent, resilient 21st century learners.
