Our School mission statement reads “We care, we are responsible, we achieve”, across all settings, classrooms and school grounds. Beenleigh State High School has a proud record of academic achievement. We also have extremely successful acceleration programs in Mathematics, Science and English for our talented academic students.
Our school boasts excellent facilities and resources, a broad, flexible curriculum and timetable structure, plus a strong and supportive welfare system. Most of our classrooms have either interactive whiteboards or fixed data projectors and in 2011, our school commenced the student laptop program, which allows students to have their own laptop/tablet to continue their studies online and in their homes. Unique programs exist in music, agriculture and sport that cater for students.
Our School has a very industrious careers support officer, promoting traineeships and apprenticeships in the students’ transition to the workforce through pathways and community partnerships. The Jigsaw educational provision provides student support in the areas of Learning Support (Literacy/Numeracy), English as a second language (ESL), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs, Gifted and Talented, Enrichment/Challenge programs, Group work – Team Up (PCYC) and Living Relationships.
The school has a very supportive and active Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander unit called Mibunn Jinndi and also a strong culture group; both the groups participate in performances throughout the school year and in the community.
