Busselton Senior High School was established in 1958 and has served the community well for over 50 years. The school has fine traditions established by the various student bodies over this time and a loyal dedicated staff. Our challenge is to plan for educational change in a rapidly evolving, and growing community and provide educational relevance and opportunities for our students within the town. Concurrently the traditions and history of the school need to be honoured and preserved.

Busselton SHS provides learning opportunities for all students to maximise their potential and adopt a positive role in society. This is achieved by providing students with challenging learning experiences.

In 2014 Busselton SHS became an Independent Public School. As an inclusive school we cater to all the needs of every student by providing flexible pathways and challenging curriculum options. Our ATAR students have consistently achieved high results ensuring direct university entrance. Students have a range of ATAR courses to choose from that ensure they meet the prerequisites they need to enter all University Pathways.
Students choosing the ATAR pathway are supported and monitored by a Year 11/12 Coordinator and homework classes.

As a Registered Training Organisation, our Vocational Education and Training programs enable students to achieve a Certificate II in Building & Construction, Engineering, Business, Sport & Recreation, Hospitality or Certificate IV in Nursing. In 2014 the school was recognised as the
Western Australian VET School of the Year. Our Specialist Music Program has received acclaim locally, nationally and internationally. The school also offers an extensive range of programs in Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education, Design and Technology, Computing and Home Economics. We provide a number of enrichment activities such as Drama productions, sporting events, international and national excursions, extra curricular programs and other leadership opportunities that enhance the learning students receive at Busselton SHS.

Busselton SHS provides a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment by developing positive relationship and ensuring all students fell safe and valued. As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school, students are explicitly taught the values of Respect, Empathy, Achievement and Learning (REAL). These values are reinforced by the school community through the REAL award program. The school provides a comprehensive pastoral care structure that includes a three Associate Principals, three Year Coordinators, School Psychologist, Nurse, Attendance Officer and Student Services Support Officer.
