Wallumbilla P–10 State School opened its doors on 25 October 1893 – as a state school only. Since then many additions and changes have occurred. The secondary department commenced in January 1964 in the Memorial Hall opposite the school site. In April of 1965 the secondary students moved across the road to the existing site.

Wallumbilla School has always enjoyed strong community support and involvement and this is best demonstrated by the fact that we enjoy the luxury of owning a school pool – built from the labours of a dedicated group of school parents and community members in 1981.

Wallumbilla School has over the course of its history always offered high standards of education to the students of the district – in academic pursuits but also in sporting and cultural activities. The Wallumbilla name and standard are recognised throughout the Maranoa area as being synonymous with high quality.

In the current day we provide the usual curriculum offerings expected from a state school as well as ‘extra’s’ in relation to a very strong instrumental music program (a regular award winner) and a full program of sporting opportunities (producing many local and regional representatives).

Our daily school program commences at 8.55 am and concludes at 3.00 pm. Many of our students travel to and from school via four bus runs that operate within the area.

The vision statement for our school is:

Every day, in every classroom, every Wallumbilla student learning and achieving within a safe, supportive, inclusive and disciplined learning environment.
