基本資料 | Information

Wagga Wagga Christian College began educating Year 7 students on 31 January 1990, after a dedication service held the previous evening. The College opened with 24 students, a full-time teaching Principal (Alan Brown), 5 part-time teachers and 5 volunteer office staff. While the purchase and development of an appropriate site was underway, approval was gained to use the premises of St Paul’s Anglican Church as a temporary site.

As far back as 1979, a group of parents met together to conduct a feasibility study for a Primary and Secondary Christian School in the Wagga Wagga area. In 1985, Bevan Walls and Anne Flood met with interested parents, teachers from visiting Christian Schools and members of Christian Parent Controlled Schools, Tony Deenick and Jack Mechielson. The Board and Parents & Friends Association were established to oversee location of a premises, development of policies and ordering of resources.

In May 1991, 5.66 hectares of land was purchased on Kooringal Road, the current site, and the process of building and development applications began. In February 1992, 85 students from Years 7 to 9, 5 teachers and 4 part time ancillary staff moved into the new building.
