Welcome to Kingswood High School's (KHS) Website.
Kingswood High School is a medium sized comprehensive coeducational secondary school located in Sydney's West, about 45 minutes from the CBD. Established in 1969, the school occupies spacious grounds with an Agriculture Plot included.
The school's 750 students are representative of modern Australia's multi-cultural nature, with 40 different cultures melding in a vibrant exciting pattern under the guidance of 70 dedicated and experienced teaching staff. The school also houses a 5 class Support Unit with 2 IM and 3 IO classes.
Kingswood High School has a proud sporting tradition, particularly in the area of team sports. A Selective Sports Program allows for additional coaching in targeted sports within normal school hours. Teams from the school frequently achieve "round of 16" status or better in State knockout competitions. Recently Kingswood High was the winning school at Zone Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country Championships and Regional Champion School.
A broad academic curriculum is provided for a full range of student abilities. Academic success is encouraged, recognised and rewarded. Vocational Education and Training (VET) is an integral part of the senior curriculum. There is a renewed and developing program in the performing arts. Since 2005 the school has participated in Rock Eisteddfod (now Wakakirri). winning 5 awards in 2014. Student leadership is manifested mainly through an active Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC organise a range of social and fundraising events, and maintains an active program of community service. Leadership programs offered by groups such as Rotary and Lions are regularly accessed.
Kingswood High School has a Trade Training Centre for Metals and Engineering, providing access to TAFE credentialed courses for students from the Penrith Valley learning community.
Kingswood High School is a friendly and welcoming place with strong welfare policies and a strict uniform code.
